Gunvault MicroVault Review

The Gunvault MicroValut XL Gun Safe is a biometric gun safe that can hold up to two handguns. It features a fingerprint scanner that can store up to 120 fingerprints, so you can be sure that only authorized users will have access to your firearms. The safe also comes with a backup key in case the fingerprint scanner fails.

One of the great things that I do like about the Gunvault MicroValut XL Gun Safe is that it’s relatively inexpensive compared to other biometric gun safes on the market. It’s also small and lightweight, making it easy to transport and access. I do like that you have can have so many fingerprints stored, this allowed me to put in multiple versions or angles of my fingerprints in so that when I’m using the fingerprint reader on a slightly different angle, I was still able to gain quick access.

However, there are a few downsides to this safe that I’ve found. First, the fingerprint scanner can be a bit finicky. When reviewing products, I like to put the features to the test, and using the scanner a bunch of times I found it to be okay, but not great. Secondly, the safe is not fireproof or waterproof, so you’ll need to take extra precautions if you’re storing your firearms in this safe.

Overall, the Gunvault MicroValut XL Gun Safe is a good option for those looking for an affordable biometric gun safe. It’s easy to use and transport, and it offers good security for your firearms.

However, it’s not perfect and there are some drawbacks which doesn’t give me faith in this product and that is in that the fingerprint scanner, which can sometimes be a little unreliable. So I feel it’s always worth considering this especially if you’re relying on a safe that has super quick access.

The sentry safe isn’t my favorite option and I would classify it as the best biometric gun safe. For some more options in biometric gun safes and to see what we’ve listed as our number 1 option, be sure to check out our article on the Best Biometric Gun Safes .
