W. "Bucky" Lawson is a typical Appalachian-American gun enthusiast and military historian, with a particular interest in military surplus firearms. He holds a master's degree in military history and is working toward a Ph.D. in the same subject. Beyond Gun University, his byline also appears at Breach Bang Clear, The Mag Life, and The Truth About Guns, and he contributes to the historical journal Strategy & Tactics. A lifelong deer hunter, he hunts when time allows.
