Streamlight weapon-mounted lights are no stranger to us here at Gun University. Streamlight is a solid USA based company that produces a quality and well priced product.

That’s one of many reasons I’m bringing you the Streamlight TLR-7 today.

Streamlight TLR-7 Review

The TLR-7 is a compact light for your pistol and with its small stature it allows your handgun to stay concealable and manageable. For me, this is perfect for when I’m on the move.

For its small size it has a good LED output. At its peak it outputs up to 5000 candela and up to 500 lumens. It also has a sleek beam allowing you to light up and potentially diminish an impending threat’s vision while still allowing for suitable peripheral illumination.

Rain won’t be worrying this little light demon – with its IPX7 rating it’s waterproof to 1 meter for 30 minutes. I love that this little bomb-proof tactical light will attach to just about any gun as quickly as you can say TLR-7.

It’s not as powerful as the Streamlight TLR-1 HL but it definitely does the job and is much smaller, so I think it’s a trade off that I’m OK with especially for an EDC option. The TLR-7 sits at an affordable price too.

One thing I’m not a fan of is the button location to switch the light on or off. The button sits on the side and a little further forward compared to the TLR-1 HL. This could be a little hard to reach if your hands are a little small.

If you’re wanting something budget-friendly, compact, lightweight and durable then this should be a consideration.

If you’re not sold on the TLR-7 WLM and you’re wanting to check out more options, be sure to see our article on the Best Pistol Mounted Lights here on Gun University.

Streamlight TLR-7 Pros and Cons
