Lead Editor

Lead Editor
Lead Editor needed!
We’re hiring a Lead Editor because Gun University is growing fast, and we’ve maxed out what we’re able to do without you on our team.
This has become a top priority, due to the growth of the Gun University’s readership and online presence as well as our near-future plans, which require increased attention to our content, website, and upcoming projects.
Therefore, we need an organized, motivated editor to help manage articles, writers, and schedules, and help Gun University continue to grow.
WHAT DOES BEING A LEAD EDITOR ENTAIL?
As the GunUniversity.com editor, you’ll work with Dave Chesson, Ryan Cleckner, and a myriad of writers. Your main job will be to ensure that quality articles continue to be posted to the website in a timely manner, and properly formatted.
However, managing content for Gun University involves much more than adhering to a schedule of publishing articles. It involves working with writers to assign and collect articles and media, proofreading and formatting, creating your own content/articles, strategizing topics with Dave and Ryan, as well as managing and “running” the website (finding, fixing, and/or managing the repair of, errors/issues).
A major benefit is that with this being a virtual position, you can do this job at home, in a coffee shop or any location of your choosing, that has an internet connection.

WHAT A DAY IN THE LIFE WOULD LOOK LIKE AS OUR EDITOR?
So, what would doing a position like this feel like? Well, here is an imaginary tale:
You wake up, and brew yourself a fresh cup of coffee. Once ready, you sit down at your computer and give the GunUnviersity.com website and Google Analytics a quick glance to ensure things look ok.
Seeing that everything is running as it should, you review your content schedule and confirm what the next few day’s articles will be, reach out to the responsible writers, and ensure they have what they need and are on schedule. Of course, you’re so good at managing things, the articles are likely already in the team storage drive, and you only need to finish uploading and formatting them. After that, all you’ll be waiting on is for the right time to come before you click “publish” and help grow the company one article at a time.
You’ll then prepare for your next meeting with the team to bring ideas to the table and be ready to share information about your progress and where you may need some help.
By mid-morning, you’ll be outlining your next article before putting the finishing touch on your most recent one that you wrote. As you need a break from writing, you get up to get some more coffee and then sit down to edit submitted articles for grammar, style, and accuracy before lunch.
After you get back from lunch (you went somewhere really fun because you can work from anywhere), you spend some time looking around the firearm industry to keep fresh with new products, trends, and news. You take what you discovered and add it to a list for the next team meeting for potential topics.
You then jump into the website and work on uploading and formatting articles – attention to detail is crucial here to ensure the correct steps are followed, and the article is properly categorized in the site.
As the day comes to a close, you finish whatever project the team is working on or perhaps, because we value learning, you finish some training for the day, you close down the computer and get ready to head to the range. After all, you work in the firearms industry now.
HOW TO APPLY?
So, do you want to join a motivated and growing team, gain inside knowledge in the firearms industry, and make money with your passion for firearms and writing about them?
If you’re interested in joining our team, then I look forward to talking to you. Just click the link below, fill out the form, and we’ll get back to you!
